The rematch of last season’s Week 15 Thanksgiving showdown between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions features the fifth- and third-ranked quarterbacks in NFL history as Aaron Rodgers and Mitchell Trubisky square off in a heated NFC North matchup.
Both teams scored touchdowns on 11 plays in each of their first three games this season and, with the exception of Mike Glennon’s debut in the season opener, Rodgers has been a mainstay of the Green Bay Packers’ offense since Week 1.
But this week’s matchup between the two division rivals comes with an added dimension, with wide receiver Davante Adams, who originally signed with the Green Bay Packers in April 2014 but was traded to the Oakland Raiders after the 2013 season, helping the Pack overtake the Bears for top spot in the NFC North.
The Chicago defense has put up better than respectable performances this season against elite quarterbacks — the Bears held former “Franchise” quarterback Cam Newton to a measly 71 passing yards in Week 2 and Tyrod Taylor to just 91 passing yards in Week 3.
That being said, the Detroit offense continues to outscore its opponents, with quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Lions’ line wreaking havoc at a rapid rate.
When everything is said and done, it will be a battle of outstanding QBs, with Rodgers putting up 344 passing yards and two TDs in Week 9, and Trubisky coming off the best start to a season by any QB since 2013.
