Cannes: The superyacht you won’t see at the film festival

The US billionaire David Koch, 80, owns the Kizhi, a 138m (460ft) superyacht.

Its own radio transmitter so it doesn’t have to be routed through the room, it can use the open deck for meetings or play tennis.

This year’s Cannes Film Festival will be the first time the mega-yacht has been used as part of the red carpet parade.

It is powered by a single engine – a 29m (96ft) power plant with a single engine, its deck is four million liters in volume (124,000 litres in the usual form of ship) and can hold 15 people.

It holds two helicopters, the space for a golf cart and a helicopter pad.

It can do 0-60mph (0-95km/h) in just 2.8 seconds and is based in the Marina del Rey, south of Los Angeles.

In 2013, the Kazakh billionaire Alisher Usmanov, 85, purchased the Shaili, a 134m (484ft) superyacht with an acrylic ceiling.

It is based on a combination of a traditional yacht and a specially built vessel, made from composite fibreglass.

The bespoke vessel is designed with two diamond-shaped high-pressure heaters that will keep it warm at the top of the water when submerged in warm water.
